What can we learn from numerical simulations of accretion disks?

Résumé :
Over the last decade, numerical simulations of accretion disk turbulence
have dramatically increased our ability to understand the dynamics of
these objects. But the gap between formal numerics and
observations/phenomenology is still frustratingly large. I will try to
summarize the most important results provided by numerical simulations
thus far, and point out instances when they have either been over
interpreted or unjustifiably ignored. I will also highlight directions
that seem especially promising, in both the short and long terms.
