Aromatic Molecules in Circumstellar Clouds

Résumé :
I will present recent observational results on the abundance of
carbon chains and aromatic species in circumstellar clouds.
The chemical differences between the chemistry in the AGB and
in the proto-planetary phase of these objects will be discussed and
analyzed as a function of the UV photons arising from the central star.
Chemical models predict that small carbon clusters will be abundant
species in these clouds and that the photochemical polymerization
of acetylene and hydrogen cyanide are the main path
for the growth of carbon chains and probably of aromatic species.
