Résumé : I will talk about the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT), a 24.5-meter, optical-near-infrared telescope made up of seven 8.4-meter mirrors. This project is one of two U.S. large telescopes planned for the next decade. The consortium includes the Carnegie Institution, Harvard University, the Smithsonian Institution, Australian National University, the University of Arizona, Texas A&M University, the University of Texas at Austin, and Astronomy Australia Limited.
