Résumé :
I wish to present the main results obtained during my PhD
work. The main goals of this work are to deepen our knowledge about the
observational properties of Polar Ring Galaxies (PRGs) in order to compare
them with the predictions from different formation scenarios for these
peculiar systems.
To these aims new Near-Infrared (NIR) data (J, H and Kn bands) for a sample
of PRGs are collected and analyzed. In particular,
for all PRGs in our sample, we performed a detail morphological study
for the host galaxy and ring and we studied light and color distributions
for both components.
