Dark and Luminous Surface Densities in Galaxies: Universality and the Nature of the Dark Matter

Résumé :
The distributions of dark and luminous matter in galaxies are not
independent as the present theory of galaxy formation and structure would
predict, but they are intimately connected.
Moreover, in the dark matter distribution, unexpected features as a region
of constant surface density have been recently established on the basis
of a large set of galaxy observations.
The cosmological and physical importance of these results will be discussed.
