Atomic Collisions and Spectral Line Shapes: A Different Perspective via
Moyal Quantum Mechanic

Résumé :
Moyal quantum mechanics (MQM), which utilizes the Wigner transform and
associated Weyl calculus, gives a complete statement of quantum theory
that is set in classical phase space. The predictive power and computational
usefulness of MQM in describing simple interacting atomic systems will be
demonstrated via numerical calculations. A fully quantum version of the
theory of the collision-broadening of spectral lines based on
MQM will be described.
