Overview of Hubble PR and Communication
Lars Lindberg Christensen
The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope is one of the most successful scientific projects of all times, both in terms of its scientific production and in terms of its 'public appeal'. In the talk some reasons for both successes will be discussed, and the modus operandi of the Hubble outreach offices in Europe and the US will be described.
Presentation 2 : Practical demonstration

During one hour we will give an introduction to the ESA/ESO Astronomy Exercise Series and work with one of the available exercises on the web. We will use: - Printed booklets (available in English) or printouts of PDF-files (also available in Italian, Dutch, French, German and Swedish). These will be handed out during the demonstration. - PCs connected to the web where interactive versions of some of the exercises are available.

Marvels of The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope - our European Eye in Space
Lars Lindberg Christensen
The European and American Hubble Space Telescope has just passed its 12th birthday, and has entered maturity. Four times the observatory has been serviced by Space Shuttle astronauts, and first-class science is pouring from Hubble in ever increasing amounts. In this talk we will look at Hubble in detail, at its interesting history and at some of the many scientific results it has produced. Finally an overview of Hubble's successor, the NASA/ESA/CSA Next Generation Space Telescope (NGST) will be given.
