Probing Dark Energy with Supernovae
R. Pain
Four years ago, the Supernova Cosmology Project and the High-z Supernova
Team presented evidences for an acceleration of the expansion of the universe. Since then a number of experiments based on different astrophysical observations have reported new evidences for a non zero cosmological constant. The focus has now shifted from questionning the existence of a non zero Lambda to trying to understand the nature of this so called "Dark Energy". I will present the current status of the ongoing analyzes of distant supernovae as well as the prospects for high statistics supernova experiments including the Supernova Acceleration Probe satellite project.
