Calibration of Type 1a Supernovae at Low Redshifts
The photometric calibration of 19 nearby supernovae at redshifts
below 0.1 will be described. The supernovae were discovered in 1999 and
followed up using 10 different telescopes. Photometric fluxes were
obtained in the U,B,V,R and I bands. Since an absolute calibration was
possible for only 5 of these telescopes, a bootstrapping technique
was used to calibrate all the supernovae images. The calibration of
this sample of 19 nearby supernovae will improve the lightcurve and
spectral templates which are needed in the analysis of
high-redshift supernovae.
